2016 Grammy nominee and multi-award winner Ron Korb is a composer, flautist, and recording artist from Toronto, Canada. Ron Korb’s compositions is a blend of Classical, Jazz, Celtic, Asian and Latin influences embodying the diverse cultures, traditions and experiences of his travels and his mixed upbringing.
Known for playing a wide range of world wind instruments, Ron has been invited to perform in Europe, the USA, Canada, Panama, Australia and across Asia, in China, Japan, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia and Taiwan. He represented Canada at 2005 Expo in Nagoya and 2015 China Shanghai International Arts Festival. During his residence in Asia, Ron composed gold and double platinum selling songs for major Hong Kong artists and won the award for “Best Original Composition” from RTHK.
Ron has produced thirty internationally released CDs as well as a DVD Ron Korb Live recorded in Quebec. He has also played on dozens of award winning films by such directors as Ang Lee, Atom Egoyan, James Ivory, Robert Lepage, Mira Nair, and John Woo. Ron’s 2015 studio album, Asia Beauty, was nominated for the 58th Grammy Awards for the Best New Age Album. The album is also the winner of 6 Global Music Awards, including a Gold Medal, the “Best of Show”, and “2015 Top 10 Albums”.
